specialty food and health fairs. Recently we have introduced Tea Talk and
Tasting and Home Tea Demonstration Parties, designed to introduce and educate
women and men to the exciting world of tea. We encourage everyone to include tea
time as part of their lifestyle. Our mission is simply stated its “time for
tea”.
The Tea Garden was founded in 1999 with the purpose of introducing and
educating people to fine loose-leaf teas, its simple pleasures, and encouraging
them to move at a slower pace, relax and enjoy life by including time for tea in
their daily routine. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, starting my own
business wasn’t a surprise, what was surprising was my interest in tea. The more
I researched and the more tea I tasted the more I wanted to know and share. I
became fascinated, intrigued and passionate about tea and its affect on the
body, mind and spirit. The tastes, aromas and flavors tea yields fascinated me
(still does). Tea as a healthy beverage didn’t surprise me, after all tea is a
plant (Camellia sinensis) in its natural state and a tradition that encompasses
many cultures and many centuries. I was intrigued that one plant could calm,
stimulate and energize and as a lover of hats I was exited about the beauty and
joy that surrounds tea time. Today, more than ever, I am passionate about tea.
Today The Tea Garden is successfully accomplishing its mission. And it’s a
family affair. My daughters Christy and Roxanne are the sales and marketing
team, my son Tremain and son-in-law Mark are the web designers and my husband
Paul is the finance manager. Our purpose and goals remain the same to promote
the essence and spirit of tea, that of social intimacy, comfort and relaxation,
while capturing the beauty and joy and cultural traditions that surrounds tea
time. We are always exploring and creating new themes and traditions that fit
today’s lifestyles and encouraging our customers to do the same.
Wishing You the Simple pleasures of Tea,
Mary
